The department is governed by a five member Fire
Board, appointed by the County Commissioner. The Fire Board is comprised
of members representing the cities within the district.
CFD2 operates three fire stations covering
approximately 17.5 square
miles, and serves 65,000 residents.
During 2010, CFD2 responded to a total of
4830 incidents.
CFD2 covers the cites of Fairway, Mission, Misson Hills, Mission Woods, a small contracted area of Overland Park, Prairie Village, Roeland Park, Westwood and Westwood Hills.
