Welcome to Consolidated Fire District 2’s (CFD#2) home on the Web.
CFD#2 proudly provides Emergency Services to the citizens and visitors
of Northeast Johnson County, KS. Please look around on our website at
some of the programs we offer, and if you have any questions or
suggestions please feel free to contact me.

CFD#2 also provides trench rescue services to our area and along with
Olathe Fire Department to all of Johnson County. We have a rescue truck
that carries our specialized equipment and trained technicians to assist
people in need, when trapped in a trench.
One program that is special to us is our Rapid Intervention Classes.
Due to the tragic line of duty Deaths of Marvin (Don) Wilcox in 1988 and
Don Koebel in 1995 a group of highly motivated Firefighters embarked on
a quest to make sure we had the best possible chance to save a trapped
Firefighter. This group went out and sought training that they brought
back to our department and have prepared and equipped us to save our
Firefighters in trouble. These people however did not stop there. They
have taken our tragic losses and turned them into a Rapid Intervention
Program for others to learn by. Through both lecture and hands on
training they have taught over a 1000 others so that they too will have
a chance to save a fellow Firefighter. There can be no finer tribute to
our fallen Brothers than this!
We consider each of our Firehouses your Firehouse. Please feel free to
come by and visit us and tour our facilities. We are very proud of the
equipment and buildings that we use to provide our service to the
community and like to share them with the public.
As the Fire Chief I am very proud of the service to the community that
our people provide every day. These Firefighters are some of the best
trained and motivated in the country. We strive to provide the best in
emergency care, fire suppression, fire prevention and other emergency
services, while at the same time being fiscally responsible to our
citizens.
It would be unfair to our fellow Firefighters to keep such a well
trained motivated group of people to ourselves, so we are proud in the
tradition of passing on training and programs to others. Some of the
classes that our Firefighters teach include National Fire Academy (NFA)
leadership, Tactical Spanish for Emergency Responders, Kansas University
Inspection classes, Driver Operator classes, Engine and Truck Company
Operations, Firefighter Survival skills, and Thermal Imaging classes.
