Welcome to the Johnson County Consolidated Fire District No.2 (CFD2) website. As you explore our site and become familiar with the variety of services that are provided by the Fire District, you will get a glimpse into the lives of the dedicated group of professionals that proudly serve the citizens and visitors of Northeast Johnson County Kansas. Our well trained and highly motivated crews respond to over 5000 calls for help and service each year. Part of our mission is to provide highly efficient service while maintaining fiscal responsibility to the 50,000 citizens who reside in the eight cities we serve.

J.C. Nichols opened his first fire station in a construction barn in Prairie Village on January 1, 1947 after recognizing the need for fire service in his new housing development. At the time he may not have envisioned the changes that were to come, resulting in the present Johnson County Consolidated Fire District No. 2, which serves eight municipalities and their surrounding areas from three stations that are staffed around the clock with 69 employees. Certainly Mr. Nichols would share in the pride of the Fire District’s continued high level of service to Northeast Johnson County which continues to this day.

All of us at CFD2 consider each of our fire stations to be your fire stations. Please do not hesitate to call with questions about our programs or services or to stop by to visit or tour the facilities and meet the men and women of our CFD2 fire service family who work diligently to ensure your safety and well-being.

Yours in the service,

Tony Lopez
